The French pastry classic, the Paris-Brest cake is shaped as a crown made of puff pastry cream, praline butter cream and hazelnuts and also flaked almonds.

For the short story, the Paris-Brest cake was created in the 19th century. This cake was given to the winner of the bicycle race going from the city of Paris to Brest. The baker was then asked to create a cake in the shape of a bicycle wheel.

The Paris-Brest cake is also available in single portions.
